Description

A year-long “next step” follow-up to the Foundations of Catholic Health Care Leadership exploring in depth the themes of Biblical Foundations, Church and Sponsorship,  Catholic Healthcare as a Ministry, Catholic Social Teaching, and Organizational Ethics in a small community of 40 peers from around the system culminating with an integrative retreat experience

Objectives
  • To offer an experience of a ministry community for leaders to grow in the ability to be an influence, and to be influenced, individually and collectively, in better integrating the Catholic Health Ministry into the struggle of living and working in a complex world and business environment
  • To experience firsthand that “call and response” in ministry always takes place in a community setting
  • To learn, understand, appreciate, and participate the heritage of the Sponsors in living out and building up a community of compassion, healing and liberation
  • To clearly articulate and apply Catholic Social Teaching to problem-solving the real, everyday challenges that leaders face in the workplace

 

Note: There are specific learning objectives for each of the 5 modules and retreat experience

Length

Six in person two-day sessions every other month for one year in retreat setting for study, prayer, reflection and community building

Prerequisites

Foundations of Catholic Health Care Leadership

Sponsorship of course

Bon Secours Health System, Center for Ministry Leadership, in collaboration with Catholic Health East and Covenant Health System

Register

Application form filled out online by candidate after consultation with her or his supervisor

CML Director forwards candidates’ forms to System/Local system CEO and EVP/SVP Sponsorship for final selection
